We’re off to the National Youth Circus Event…

Five of our youth members have been selected to participate in the 2015 National Youth Circus Event (NYCE) at the National Centre for Circus Arts in London (NCCA) from the 13th-15th February. They will get to take part in a variety of circus workshops, circus training and meet other youth circus’ from all around the country and we just can’t wait to get down there and get involved. The event happens once a year and this will be CircusMASH’s first time attending.

CircusMASH goes to the National Centre for Circus Arts for the 2015 National Youth Circus Event.

CircusMASH is going to the National Centre for Circus Arts for the 2015 National Youth Circus Event.

At present the selected participants are busy preparing for their performance at the Sunday evenings ‘Tea Party Cabaret’ which will be hosted by the NCCA and takes a look at ‘A snap-shot of our city’. We have opted to explore our lovely old town from its roots in the industrial revolution and put together a piece of circus which delves into the lives of the people around when the factories opened and the air began to fill with cloud.

Beth, one of our youth members selected to take part at the NYCE2015 in our classical style circus show last year.

We’ll be leaving on February 13th and will be there for the entire weekend. We’ll be sending constant updates of everything that is going on so be sure to keep up to date on our Facebook page.

It is very exciting that we can make national connections with other youth circus’ and create a network for our young members to make circus friends around the country. This could possibly lead to future exchanges and a more connected, consistent country of circus! Check out the NYCE here:

Expect an exciting blog post when we get back!
