Once upon a time we made a show called RETROGRADE (September – December 2017). It was created over four months from an adult programme which we called Adult CirqueStars, where 16 participants got together each week to make a show that was truly spectacular. Before you go any further… here is the trailer:
From September to December 2023 we are bringing Adult CirqueStars back to make a new show for December 2023 and we are inviting 16 participants to join in the fun with us! You’ll work with four coaches each week for three hours to pull together something magical which will be performed over multiple shows in December.
Key Information
When: Wednesday’s 6.30pm – 9.30pm (12 Weeks). You must commit to ALL sessions.
Where: CircusMASH
Cost: £360
This is £30 per week and can be paid up front, in 2 instalments of £180 (September, October) or 3 instalments of £120 (September, October, November).
Start Date: 6th September. Every Wednesday
Half Term Break: 1st November | This is an open space session where you can come and practice.
Tech Week: 29th November (Tech Week)
Show Dates: TBC: 1st or 2nd Weekend of December.
What does a typical training session / rehearsal look like?
In CirqueStars we are going to push you to learn aerial, balance and coordination skills in a way you never have before. You will build skills to be part of multiple acts in the show. You will have a primary act and then be part of ensemble choreography and circus scenes. Each will be heavily choreographed.

Before joining CirqueStars, I had been attending 1 mixed aerial class a week. I wanted to push myself further and despite not knowing exactly what to expect, I thought joining CirqueStars and working towards the Christmas Show, Retrograde, would be the perfect opportunity to do so. I was encouraged to participate in and learn skills I had never before tried, including: diabolo, dance, roller skating, doubles trapeze, juggling, rola bola and seesaw. CirqueStars really was a life changing experience, I completely fell in love with all aspects of circus and performance. CirqueStars is the reason I am now doing what I love everyday and I would 100% recommend to everyone to join this class!
