Training FAQ’s

I’ve have never done anything. Is this ok?

We work with a variety of skill levels, starting with absolute beginners. Don’t you worry… We understand how intimidating aerial circus can feel for your first time. Come along and let us show you just how much you will surprise yourself with all that you do in your first lesson!

I’m not very strong… can I still take a class?

Having some awareness of your body is a great thing. Sometimes you may actually surprise yourself with how much stronger you are than you may think! But just in case you are still worried, we will help you build your strength and confidence, so there is no need to fret.

I cant pick a class… what do you suggest?

We offer a wide variety of classes for the aerialist in you, and they can be so hard to pick from. Some of you may have an idea of what you want to try, so go for it! Check out some videos online to see if anything tickles your fancy. If you are a complete first timer and worry about how much you can achieve, try something like hammock for your first go. Or if you are a bit more confident, go for trapeze!

If you are someone who has some aerial experience and can’t find the class you are looking for, just let us know and we will sort you out.

I’m coming to a class… what do I wear?

It is best to wear something comfortable, similar to what you would wear to the gym. Something tight fighting, like leggings that cover the back of your knees, and a good comfy top that covers your armpits. If you are worried about the chill in the air, bring a coat, but it won’t be on for long once you get warmed up!

I’m a bit nervous… is it going to hurt?

After your very first lesson, you are definitely going to feel like you have had a good core workout, your arms will be a bit sore and you may experience a tiny bit of bruising or friction burn. We like to say it like this, if you have good chemistry with the aerial equipment, you will experience a bit of friction… but it won’t last long! You will have enjoyed the class so much, that you’ll be ready to build your tolerance straight away. Let your nerves rest and come get your adrenaline pumping!

I don’t like heights… should I still bother?

So, you’re not a fan of heights? Well guess what… you aren’t alone! That is the number one fear with aerial training. There are a few different solutions for this. First of all, let us know beforehand so we can make sure we work with you lower down on the equipment. Secondly, for your first time you will not being going to extreme heights, so you should still give it a go. Finally, we know it is something you have always wanted to overcome, and we are going to help you do just that!
