Jewellery Quarter Festival 2016, 17 & 18
We have worked with the Jewellery Quarter Festival since 2015 and provided four original outdoor participatory commissions each summer.
Our brief in 2015 was. to create something highly interactive and jaw dropping. As this relationship has built, year on year we have learned about audiences at the festival and adapted each creation especially for them.
Here is the story…

For summer 2018 we involved community members from our centre for circus arts, who came together with professionals to take over St Paul’s Square for two days. Circus activity for people to join in with, and watch.

We ran from 12.30pm – 4.30pm on Saturday & Sunday.

In 2017, with additional funding from Arts Council England we created Manoken.
A lost family of mannequins trying to navigate and find their way by way of circus, using audiences to help them on their journey.

In 2016 we created Hullabaloo #JoinTHEnoise. An adventure celebrating the glorious English weather. When the sun was out the sun was out…. but when the rain came…

In 2014/2015 we produced FLOAT. A curious conundrum of circus bizarre with funding from Arts Council England. Float took professional and emerging artists from the UK and created a participatory experience for the JQ Festival.

We’re already planning 2019 and can’t wait!
