why do circus?

Well, apart from the benefits to mental and physical health, you will find an inclusive safe community space, with open arms held out to all ability levels.

“My little boy attends children’s circus class on Saturday mornings and I have attended aerial silks and aerial hammock, and I can’t recommend CircusMASH highly enough. The building is a fantastic space, and the instructors are talented, thorough, friendly and professional, excellent teachers and endlessly patient!” Rachel Conlisk

beyond discovery

Beyond the Discovery youth classes, any students that are ready to move on to a more focused path into circus can join our FOUNDATION stage. We don’t list our foundation classes online but they include Aerial, Acrobatics, Creative, Conditioning and Flexibility & Balance.

Students are assessed each term and if we feel they have the focus and/or skills to move into our Foundation stage, we’ll let you know. Foundation students are able to audition for Bfourteen Troupe and The Birmingham Youth Circus Shows that go out and perform in the community.

If we have any new members wishing to join CircusMash that are of an advanced level, we will assess this at one of our Discovery Taster Sessions, and get them enrolled on the right level.

student shows

We have our Winter Show at the beginning of December that we encourage everybody to be part of. It is the only time during the year that all of our community comes together to showcase their skills to friends and family.

Tickets are available to purchase here if you would like to come and see a show before you get started.

Each class will have an act in the showcase, and students will be able to audition for solo opportunities.

The coaches will let students know about this in class (and don’t worry, it’s optional!)

For specific details on any shows or showbacks, please take a look on our Family Portal.
